An Abandoned Automaton

Throughout the journey there, the dull shine of the sun hitting the very top of the towering figure leads you closer to it like a guiding star. It is so huge that, even when lowering into the true dip of the valley, it always remains visible upon the horizon. As Waltz said, this isn’t a statue as first thought, but something far more sinister.
As you approach, the aura around the titan rolls over the hills, taken by the wind, bringing with it a quiet apprehension.

It is in the depth of a valley between the verdant green hills that stands to attention a statuesque automaton of impossible size. A harrowing suit of mechanical armour, it looms tall over its own long shadow, looking out across the realms to the North-West. Moss and ivy grow upon its dull brass; huge sheets of metal firmly held with rivets the size of heads. It still holds onto a massive mechanical sword in one ridged hand, its chipped, decaying blade showing obvious signs of the destruction it must of once wrought. Over the sound of the wind coursing down the hills, there comes loud creaks and groans from the rusting metal.

White birds settle on its head, just like the first time you saw it as you left the darkness of the forest, the glass of its large circular eyes nothing but heartless and unfeeling, yet reflecting the shining sunlight all the same.

Though the long grass sways at its feet, there is a strange silence in the automaton’s presence, putting you all a little on-edge.
